there are many interesting stuff like

http://medianetwork.oracle.com/media/updateMedia/15487?n=playlist&nid=1

and among them, 'our' Neal Gafter was talking about LINQ, no new stuff for us to hear but interesting still, since he was and still is an important figure in 'the other side' of the world (or 'the other evil empire' maybe ??), and often explain things by comparing or refering to the jvm counterpart .

but overall it looks like JVM is evolving towards a multilanguage vm,

http://www.infoq.com/presentations/Towards-a-Universal-VM

so what happened to this slogan ??

<evnet:views>48</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://channel9.msdn.com/570945/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>the videos from JVM language summit is online,

A summary:

99 dollars for the hardware

HD playback (720p probably) - Ethernet Plug - 802.11n - Optical audio out

Rent TV shows 99 cents in HD (only Fox and ABC right now)

Netflix integration

YouTube integration

'AirTunes' is the PlayTo from the iPad to the AppleTV (not the other way arround)

What do you think? Seems like a decent product, with very good content. I don't know if it can top the the US Zune Video Marketplace. But it does seem very good it's working with DOLLARS instead of MICROSOFT POINTS.

Microsoft needs to up there game:

More content in European Countries (launch worldwide with PH7 please!)

Say the price on the Xbox Zune Marketplace (not the number of microsoft points)

Integrate YouTube

Movie Rentals in the Zune Desktop Client ?

PROMOTE IT (commercials , billboards, get ZUNE out there)

Google backs out of the popular JavaOne conference, after being a major participant for six years.

Google's pulling out of JavaOne indicates it and Oracle are not making
much progress in their dispute, said IDC analyst Al Hilwa. He cited a
possibility of fragmentation for Java: "It signals more serious rifts
and risks for fragmenting Java. I wouldn't be surprised to see Google
rebrand the Java-like language it uses for Android and stop trying to
make it conform to Java at some point."

Notice the deja-vu? Isn't that exactly what Microsoft did 10 years ago?

Meanwhile, I think Redmond is the real winner here. They are probably enjoying seeing two of their most bitter competitors duke it out, but they aren't doing it from the sidelines. They even went as far to say that they wouldn't sue if .NET somehow appeared on Android. Is that a hint to Google, or perhaps a way to look more open then Java?

Regardless, if Google does decide to switch to .NET (IMO, highly unlikely), or roll their own framework, the real loser will be Java, and maybe even Oracle.

I really think Oracle has no leverge here: Java isn't the "compelling" feature of Android. It's quite obvious to me at least that if Google would have known Oracle would throw a fit about Android, they'd simply avoid using Java in the first place - and Android would have been as successful (or even more successful) without it. They even have their own JITing VM and core libraries. Language design isn't outside of Google's expertise, they count the designers of C and Python as employees ffs.

So good luck with the injunction Oracle.

<evnet:views>309</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://channel9.msdn.com/569917/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>http://infoworld.com/d/the-industry-standard/google-backs-out-javaone-conference-591

So I closed it down, and re-opened it. However, this didn't solve the problem. Restarting the PC didn't either.

I now have the following situation:

1. Logging in to the messenger service takes several minutes during which high CPU usage is observed.

2. The expanded view shows constant 100% CPU usage; compact view does not.

I removed the Facebook connection from Windows Live, which seems to have fixed issue 2 but not issue 1. I've also removed various local Messenger data folders so it could rebuild them, but that didn't help either.

Any idea what could be going on?

<evnet:views>152</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://channel9.msdn.com/569849/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>Yesterday, I noticed the Live Messenger wave 4 beta was using 100% CPU out of the blue.

Anyway, my printer as of yesterday going insane after I turn it off. It didn't turn off and starts to flash led all over. It is all-in-one, so it has many leds. And I unplug power and replug it. After that, my printer is unable to finish inistializing. The scanner keep having this weird sound.

Ok, how to fix this? I have to unplug it for at least 5 mintnues and plug it back. It will work and my scanner is completely fine. If I ever turn it off and turn it back on? It will do those crazing sound again. The only way to fix this is to unplug it for at least 5 minutes. I presume that the internal data will be lost once I unplug it long enough.

So far, I just keep it on and never turn off. Unless I unplug it without turning it off. I believe there is somekind of hardware virus embeded in my printer. I am not going to disclose the printer brand ofc. But, anyone have similar experience recently?

for example

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSpA0PCddQg

What about audio apps?

How different is the audio technology in Windows Phone 7 from the plain old high (slow) latency Direct Sound/MME stuff we used to have in XP?

OR how similar is it to the nice low latency WASAPI/WDM Kernel Streaming stuff we now have in Vista/Win7 that unfortunately doesn't get used as much as it should because we already have ASIO that works fine?

If you look at Keyboard Magazine or Electronic Musician etc. they take iPhone/Pad music apps very seriously. Musicians now use software instruments just like they used to use hardware and having it on a mobile device is obviously perfect for them.

I hope to see many different midi controllers and music production apps on WinPhone 7 devices. Music might seem like a small segment of the market compared to games but face it, musicians and even DJs are far more influential when it comes to promoting new products than gamers :)

Midi/OSC controller apps don't actually make any sound so they're really more dependent on the speed of the phone's processor but stuff like the Rebirth or Electribe apps rely on the OS being able to create sound with very little latency

for example

http://rebirthapp.com/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeVx5PQERKE

Notice I'm not talking about audio QUALITY. Any phone can sound good but not all phones and mobile OSes are well suited to creating audio on the fly fast enough to be used as a musical instrument.

<evnet:views>230</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://channel9.msdn.com/569594/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>It's great that WinPhone 7 can do all kinds of nice LOOKING stuff

I'm new to programming, I am also disabled. I broke my neck 18 years ago and am trying to learn programming. It is very difficult to write code when you can't use your hands. I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 preferred to write this, and it is a great tool for the disabled, but it is very limited when it comes to writing code. I've tried using Windows 7 voice recognition in Visual Studio, what a bad idea that was! It doesn't even understand IDE interface and writing any code with it is totally impossible. I heard some genius tried to make an add-on for Visual Studio to enable voice recognition in C. sharp, but I never heard anything else about it. So I was wondering if anyone out there could suggest a code editor that works well with voice recognition or perhaps teach me how to integrate voice-recognition into an editor of my own creation. By the way usually I write code using what's called a mouth stick, and that is just what it sounds like a stick you hold in your mouth. It is a very inefficient and painful way to do anything. So if you could please drop a suggestion or two it would be very appreciated thanks.

I don't know, is this the right place to ask this question.

I want to do following thing:

1. Open excel sheet.

2. Copy all data using ctrl+c option. So now data is in clipboard.

I have web application, in which on upload data form, I have a grid & some button(copy, paste, etc.)

3. If I select grid & click on Paste button then it should copy all data to grid & in background to database also.

Can sharepoint or other tool supports this?Or we have to write code for it?
